Journey to Yunnan | Zhongwang Wei

The trip to Yunnan from November 18-24, 2024, where I had the honor of being invited as an instructor for the First Practical Skills Training for Young Scholars in Isotope Hydrology held in Kunming (https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/eBWVG9wmDiYhuDsFoSP9Cg). Just recording this experience. It felt wonderful, and I hope to have the chance to visit again. I think it wouldn’t be bad to retire here when I’m older.

Yunnan University is really beautiful and very quiet. The pace of life feels very slow. Many people lie down near the lavender fields to sunbathe at noon, which feels very comfortable.

I took some time to visit Dianchi Lake. The water quality of Dianchi Lake is quite good; the local government must have done a lot of work. There are many popular photo spots for internet celebrities.

I also visited the largest fresh flower market in Asia, Dounan Flower Market. It was quite impressive. The flowers are very cheap, but the quality varies, so you need to choose carefully.
